With my bachelor project I have done research on how rope can be used to design a seating furniture to make strangers look up from their smart phones and start a conversation. The arena for my investigations was hotel lobbies and I have designed for people who travel alone on business travels. I have done research in themes like games, movement, communication and physics and used representatives from the target group in the design process.
The result was Jello – an interactive seating group. With this product the users own curiosity release a movement that unveils the person in front of them.
